Brand and Content Marketing Manager

PlayVS is building the infrastructure and official platform for high school and college esports. We work with game publishers, high school governing bodies and collegiate programs to build and operate sanctioned leagues across the country. Our software products tie everything together, creating the world’s first full-stack sports platform. PlayVS is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA and is rapidly expanding.

PlayVS is in search for its first-ever Brand & Content Marketing Manager. As one of the first marketers at PlayVS, you’ll be involved in every aspect of the marketing process, from brainstorming to launch. You’ll be combining your branding, content and positioning skills to create engaging experiences for our growing community.

Here's what you'll get to do

  • Develop a brand & communications strategy for PlayVS and its brand portfolio.
  • Test and define brand messaging for key audiences.
  • Identify and launch a content strategy to generate awareness and engagement with PlayVS brand and products.
  • Launch initiatives that tell the PlayVS story to an even wider audience across: Brand, PR & Content.
  • Research, ideate, and help envision the future of the PlayVS brand.
  • Test, learn, and iterate on everything you do.

Here's what we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in consumer-internet marketing.
  • Strong experience with consumer digital products and brands.
  • Experience building and growing consumer brands through content & community.
  • Familiarity working with cross-functional teams & external partners.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to translate complex marketing issues into easily understood terms in order to articulate the value of marketing to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • A user-centric approach and love to think holistically about solving customer needs based on both qualitative and quantitative research.
  • High comfort level with customer discovery, in-person interviews, as well as data (e.g. user surveys, statistics, funnel analytics) to continuously improve the user experience.
  • Entrepreneurial and risk-oriented, with an understanding of the dynamics of small, high-growth companies, and the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Passionate, driven, generous and a motivated self-starter, with deep collaboration skills and EQ.
