Role Summary

The Manager of Social Media & Content Strategy will help lead the development and execution of social strategy and content planning for Live, including but not limited to concerts and events at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Beacon Theatre and Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. The Manager will assist the Director on all creative campaign development and ideation, and work alongside colleagues in creative services to develop and tactically program all external-facing content. S/he must have superb written skills, an impeccable attention to detail and the ability to craft social voice for all MSG venues that is: on-brand, authentic, elevated and relatable. Candidate has a deep working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram/Stories, Tik Tok and YouTube. S/he will be able to communicate the Company’s brand in a positive, authentic and engaging way that resonates with our audiences.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Set, manage and execute social, digital and content-focused strategies across socials and digital platforms such as, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube and Tik Tok for Live and venue brands, along with evaluation of new platforms for content distribution
  • Develop and maintain editorial calendars; oversight of day to day operations, including copy-writing, scheduling and publishing, community management and maintenance as needed
  • Track performance of campaigns and deliver against KPIs, working closely with analytics teams to pull results and analyze data to create strategies and tactics that lead to building customer base and increasing engagement
  • Oversee the content creation process- from conception to execution - of social graphics, animation and motion graphics, GIFs and short and long form video
  • Work closely and collaborate with Marketing Strategy, Creative, Production, Photo Services, PR, Integrated Media, and Marketing Partnerships on content execution and fulfillment
  • Regularly audit and share best in class content across competitive landscape, while also constantly monitor trends and viral moments in the social and digital space
  • Live event coverage on-site, as needed; after-hours coverage required
  • Present to senior leadership regularly on social plans and results of campaign performance
  • Supervise coordinators and student associate


  • 4-6 years’ experience working in the music industry in a social or digital content-related position is ideal
  • Full proficiency in social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Tik Tok and emerging platforms
  • Understanding of changing social environment and emerging technologies and platforms
  • Knowledge of live music and entertainment, pop culture, popular and emerging musical artists and genres is preferred
  • Ability to navigate and prioritize in very sensitive, high paced environments – including collaborating with various departments to push work forward
  • S/he is a creative thinker and a strong writer
  • Strong communication (written, verbal, presentation) and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines


Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
