TSM is looking for a detailed oriented People Operations Specialist who will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate an amazing and innovative culture as the organization grows and scales. This is a full-time role located in our Los Angeles office. The role will report to the Head of People Operations.

As the People Operations Specialist, you will support our rapidly growing team and play an integral role in continuing to develop TSM’s people strategy, enhancing people practices & culture, and even building some processes from the ground up! You are someone with a background in People Operations, a love for learning & development, and experience working at a scaling start-up company.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Partner with the Head of People Operations to act as a business partner to functional leadership teams, as well as a hands-on generalist for the company for all things people-related including onboarding, talent review and assessment, career development, succession planning, internal mobility, engagement action planning and rewards/recognition
  • Manage front-line HR operations support to employees on core HR processes and responsibilities across all employee life-cycle activities
  • Develop and maintain programs for onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and professional development
  • Assist with managing the recruitment process and partnering with hiring mangers on filling key positions
  • Assess organizational health and effectiveness and identify opportunities to promote improvements and efficiencies
  • Embody the TSM core values we have as an organization and represent our friendly, genuine and passionate culture by being accessible, proactive, and engaging
  • Proactively and thoughtfully address workplace and employee relations issues on an individual and systematic basis
  • Promote a culture of learning and direct & caring feedback by providing coaching/guidance on skill-building, professional development, change management, collaboration, and handling situations to resolution
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor and employment laws and regulations; keeping up to date on legislation / policy in the industry that could impact our people strategy
  • Develop and manage thoughtful, scalable HR policies and practices that fairly balance the interests of all team members and are consistent with the culture of the company
  • Drive company-wide initiatives to increase employee satisfaction and productivity

What It Takes To Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • SHRM or other HR certification
  • Experience with recruitment, sourcing and building a pipeline of candidates to fill open positions
  • Knowledge of HR compliance, employment laws, best practices and industry standards
  • 3-5 years of relevant HR experience supporting teams in a start-up environment
  • Experience with HRIS, benefits administration
  • Track record of implementing and scaling people processes, operations and systems
  • Previous experience as an HR Business Partner a plus
  • HRIS, ATS or similar HR platform experience
  • Experience managing people operations and policies for exempt and nonexempt employees, in-office and remote employees
